MIT Portugal Program launches the call for PhD Scholarships, taking place in Portugal and at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) under the terms of the PhD Program on Bioengineering funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT)
This Doctoral Program was selected under the Call from FCT, through which 10 scholarships per year per program are attributed to selected candidates. The Jury will select the candidates awarded with the scholarships funded though the FCT. These scholarships are available to candidates holding a master degree or equivalent in the areas targeted by the MIT Portugal Program.
Duration of the Call
The call will be open until May 15th, 2016, 5:00pm GMT (New deadline).
Evaluation and communication of the results
Evaluation is essentially based on the merit and motivation of the applicant. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. The evaluation procedure may require an interview in English either in person or by videoconference. Preference will be given to candidates who present good results in the “GRE General Test” (general exam of the Graduate Record Examination). The evaluation panel will review the submitted applications, weighting the review elements and producing a sorted list of candidates.

The following citizens are eligible to apply to this call: Portuguese or citizens from the State members of the European Union; citizens from other countries provided the application is supported by the Portuguese hosting institutions adherent to the Acordo para a Cooperação Internacional em Ciência e Tecnologia e Ensino Superior (Agreement for the International Cooperation in Science, Technology and Higher Education), celebrated with Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia; citizens from other countries with a valid resident permit or long-term residents; other citizens selected by interview.
