| Project Objectives | The aim of this project is to obtain elastomeric films from blends of Natural Rubber (NR) from Hevea Brasiliensis trees (Seringueira) and a derivative of polyaniline, poly(o-methoxyaniline)(POMA) doped with camphor sulphonic acid (CSA), by casting. The films will be studied by conductivity measurements, infra red spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). |
| Required skills | It is necessary that student has some Knowledge about science of polymer. |
| Techniques to be used | Conductivity measurements, infra red spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). |
| Schedule of Activities | In the first, second e third month the student will learn basic concept about polymer, especially conducting polymer and natural rubber. The student also will learn how to prepare a pure rubber and to make the POMA synthesis. In the fourth and fifth month the student will prepare the films and characterize them. The report will be done at the end of sixth month. |
