The main purpose of the network is to facilitate and promote the mobility of Engineering students and to give the students the opportunity to study special fields of expertise of the partner institutions. The network shares an interest in biotechnology, chemical and biological engineering, as well as other broad areas within different technology fields. The mobility period is aimed at practical training and projects according to the students’ line of specialisation and is an integral part of the curricular structure of their degree courses.

This project intends to put forward what has previously been prepared by the network within an Alfa Project, directed at the preparation of student mobility using ECTS tools in order to validate and formalise the mobility periods abroad. The full recognition is considered to be a priority within the project.
Its specific objectives are the following:

- To extend the mobility scope to other environments and realities, and to give the students the opportunity to choose different options that are not offered at their home institutions.

- To exchange students according to the EU methodology of ECTS – European Credit Transfer System

- To provide Alfa grant-holders students with the same optimal conditions Erasmus students have during an exchange period.

- To enhance our skills through sharing experiences among the International Offices of the partner universities.

- To offer the students a unique opportunity for learning through cultural experiences and to acquire auxiliary/transversal skills so valued at the global market.

The network intends to increase the intellectual capital of the member universities, bearing the philosophy that internationalisation is a strategic priority nowadays since it is a privileged way to improve the quality of teaching and of the services offered by the universities.
