Welcome to MicroBiotec09!
It is a great pleasure and privilege for us to welcome you, on
behalf of both organizing societies - The Portuguese Society of
Microbiology and The Portuguese Society of Biotechnology, to the
joint meeting MicroBiotec09, which is to be held in Vilamoura,
Algarve, 28-30 November 2009 at the Congress Centre of Tivoli
Marina Hote.
We are anticipating an important meeting addressing relevant
aspects of current topics in the broad areas of microbiology and
biotechnology including environmental microbiology, industrial
and food microbiology, clinical microbiology and epidemiology,
microbiological pathogenesis, cell and tissue engineering,
biomaterials, nanobiotechnologies and pharmaceutical
biotechnology.
The interest of our community became apparent by the high number
of anticipated participants, as well as the high number of
submitted abstracts. Delegates will be pleased to find a
programme of high scientific quality with plenary lectures,
symposia, and poster sessions. To the symposia, specialists on
selected subjects have been invited, and speakers of the oral
communications have been chosen among the authors of the best
abstracts, according to the rating by the reviewers. The
thematic spectrum of the oral sessions is wide-ranging and
interesting, thanks to a large number of submissions received
for presentation at this conference in Vilamoura.
In addition, MicroBiotec09 will award prizes, namely for the
Best Poster and Best Presentation in each symposium.
