If you arrive by plane:
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is situated at about 12 km
from the Conference Centre and from the Hotels.
Taxis- There are Airport Taxis available just outside the arrivals terminal.
Taxi fares to the city centre cost approx. 2500 PTE.
Bus service - Bus service no. 56 is also available just outside the arrivals terminal.
The service runs every 30 minutes, the journey lasts about 40 minutes
and the cost is 160 PTE. For locations H1 and H2 you should leave on
the 1st stop immediately after the 'Rotunda' (BS1 on map).
For the Conference Centre, location CC, leave on the stop 'Palacio'
(BS2 on map).
If you do not bring heavy luggage,
it will not be a problem to walk to the Hotels or to the Conference Centre from the bus stop.
If you arrive by train (Campanhã Train Station)
We suggest that you take a taxi. Cost should be of approximately 1000 PTE.
If you come by car from South, along the A1 motorway:
You may think of flying to Lisbon, visiting EXPO98
and driving to Porto from Lisbon. It is motorway all the 310 km, right to the hotels.
After the toll check point, take the western route to the Arrabida bridge.
It should be pointed out that, in order to do this, you need to keep to the
right hand lanes of the A1 and follow the signs 'ARRABIDA'.
Immediately after you cross the Arrábida bridge (you cannot miss it),
leave the motorway to 'Porto Cpo. Alegre'.
You come to a junction with traffic lights after a few hundred yards.
For Hotel Tuela or for Tuela Torre - drive straight on;
the Hotels are less than 200 m along on your right.
For Hotel Ipanema-Porto - turn right on the traffic lights;
the Hotel is about 200 m along on the left hand side.
The Conference Centre and the other hotels mentioned are not far away,
but consult the map.
Ipanema-Park is about 750 m along the road to the left of the traffic lights
(on the right hand side), but it is forbidden to turn left at these lights.
You can go straight on and turn right at the Hotel Tuela/Tuela-Torre,
then right again at the end of that road into 'Campo Alegre';
then go straight on (avoiding the tunnel!).
